Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter/Decorator to join our team. This role involves applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. The successful candidate will have experience in construction painting and possess excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between sites. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing to the enhancement of residential and commercial properties.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes with precision and care
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and adheres to client specifications
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout each project
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding project progress and requirements
- Use appropriate tools and equipment efficiently to achieve desired results
- Assist in the planning and execution of decorating projects from start to finish
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating roles
- Knowledge of different paints, finishes, wallpapers, and application techniques
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for site travel
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail
- Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks involving lifting, climbing, and working at heights
