Oxford Breast Buddy Group (OBBG) is hiring! If you have a flair for social media and websites, and would like to join part time (3-5 hours a week) for a small but ambitious charity that supports breast cancer patients in Oxford, this could be for you.
OBBG is looking for a marketing professional, to work alongside the OBBG administrator. The primary focus of the role would be using a range of tools and technologies to promote and raise awareness of OBBG’s work and events, both to members and the broader community. The role would also involve supporting OBBG’s administrator, providing backup on a range of administrative tasks.
A varied and rewarding role with plenty of autonomy, encouraging the successful candidate to be pro-active and creative, and to harness a range of technology to raise awareness of OBBG’s work and events.
Responsibilities
· Lead and deliver internal and external marketing and communications for OBBG – events, awareness, education and member’s stories
· Creation and posting of social media – Facebook, Linked In, Instagram and others
· Updating and maintenance of OBBG website (Squarespace)
· Write and distribute OBBG newsletters for members – informing members about events, activities and updates from the charity. Manage newsletter creation and distribution through MailChimp, creating targeted content to our audience base[SB1]
· Actively promote OBBG through range of channels, collaborative partnerships, press releases and maximising opportunities to raise awareness of OBBG
· Production and distribution of charity marketing materials – posters, leaflets and merchandise
· Manage the OBBG Sharepointsite -catalogue of pictures, videos, case studies, OBBG stories, newsletters and marketing materials
· Custodian of the OBBG ‘brand’, ensuring consistent and integrated branded messages across digital channels and conventional communication platforms.
· Support OBBG’s administrator in a range of activities that ensure the smooth running of the charity
Skills & Competencies
· Confident IT skills - Microsoft Office suite, Canva, web-based applications (SquareSpace) and social media tools (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram etc)
· Creative and innovative ideas on how AI tools could support this role
· Experienced marketing professional, pro-active with creative content and design flair
· Independent and self-driven, highly organised with good attention to detail
· Experience of working collaboratively with others to achieve a common goal[SB2]
· Affinity with the vision and purpose of OBBG, empathy, compassion and kindness to members – women who have had, or are undergoing treatment for breast cancer
· Excellent oral and written communication skills, outgoing and people-centred. Fluent English speaker
· Ability to manage relationships internally with the OBBG team and externally with members and other OBBG stakeholders
· Compliance with GDPR regulations and best practice.
Terms of Agreement
· Self-employed - Estimated(3-5 hours per week). Hours are flexible hours, however social media posts need to be timely after events. Additional hours may be required around major events or when covering for the Administrator
· £15 per hour and invoices submitted monthly
· Reports to the OBBG Chairperson
· Primarily work from home, but attendance at Oxford based events may be required for photos
· Basic DBS is a requirement for this role. OBBG will meet the costs of the application for the selected candidate. DBS is administered by the UK Government Disclosure and Barring Service. This will need to be renewed annually.
