Teaching Assistant - Primary SEN School

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team at a specialist primary SEN school in Bury from September 2026.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, communication difficulties, sensory needs, and learning disabilities. You will help create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive.

Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.

Assist with the delivery of engaging and differentiated learning activities.

Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.

Support pupils with communication, social interaction, and personal development.

Help maintain a safe, stimulating, and inclusive classroom environment.

Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, parents, and external agencies.

Experience working with children, ideally within an SEN or primary school setting.

A patient, caring, and resilient approach.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.

A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Relevant qualifications (such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification) are desirable but not essential.
