An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Paediatric Dentistry team at Bristol Dental Hospital as a full-time Specialty Doctor or Specialist covering maternity leave. This 10-session post offers the opportunity to provide specialist paediatric dental care within a busy tertiary referral service, including new patient assessments, treatment clinics, trauma management, GA pre-assessment clinics, and inhalation sedation (where accredited). The successful candidate will work closely with consultants, trainees, community specialists, and multidisciplinary colleagues across the Trust, contributing to high-quality patient care for children and young people across the South West. We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced clinician with excellent communication skills who is committed to delivering exceptional patient-centred care within a supportive and collaborative team.
Main Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Clinical sessions will involve comprehensive dental care of patients requiring Paediatric Dentistry, Clinical sessions will involve comprehensive dental care of patients requiring Paediatric Dentistry, GA pre-assessment clinics on the outpatient department, trauma clinics, new patient assessments and treatment clinics including sedation on the outpatient department.
The post-holder will collaborate directly with colleagues from other dental and medical specialties within the Dental hospital and wider Trust such as Oral Medicine, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Adult Restorative and Special Care Dentistry as well as the Primary Care Dental Service team based in the community). The post-holder will require flexibility, resilience and a wide range of skills for this post and will be supported by clear line management and mentorship.
