About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable teacher to join our Alternative Provision setting. This role involves working with small groups of 3–4 students, supporting young people who may have struggled in mainstream education.
You will deliver a range of subjects, including KS3 and KS4 Maths and English, alongside other curriculum areas depending on your strengths and experience. We welcome applicants from all subject specialisms who are confident in delivering core skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons across KS3 and KS4, particularly in Maths and English
- Build positive, supportive relationships with students
- Manage and respond effectively to challenging behaviour
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs
- Track and support student progress both academically and socially
- Work collaboratively with a small staff team to support each learner holistically
- Create a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour (essential)
- A strong sense of humour and the ability to build rapport with students
- Flexibility and willingness to teach across a range of subjects
- Confidence teaching or supporting Maths and English at KS3/KS4 level
- A calm, consistent, and resilient approach
- Passion for supporting students with additional needs or barriers to learning
