We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker to join our team and support the overall operations at our residential home for young adults.
As a Senior Support Worker you will have an integral role at our home supporting young adults, Support Workers and effectively working and communicating to the management team.
We are looking for someone that is great at leading, communicating, is organised, pays attention to detail and has a passion for care and support. You will play a vital role in providing high-quality support and supervision to residents, ensuring their wellbeing and safety are maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
- Follow care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Provide support to the support workers and seniors with care, following policies and procedures, completing tasks, records and communications.
- Assist our young people with daily activities such as personal care, medication, respecting their dignity, promoting independence and getting involved in their hobbies and interests.
- Work in line with CQC standards, legislation, and company policies
- Communicate effectively with staff, parents, and professionals to promote positive relationships and collaboration.
- Supervise staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
- Monitor young people's progress and wellbeing, use person centered care and communications with other seniors and management in order to effectively provide care and encourage independence for our young people.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to young people's care and development, including but not limited to daily notes, incident reports and risk assessments.
- Contribute to organising activities for residents that interest them and help with their development and independence
- Participate in staff training sessions and professional development opportunities.
- Assist with administrative tasks when required
Requirements
- Previous experience is essential, a minimum of 6 months experience as a Senior Support Worker is required.
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effective interaction with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes is highly desirable.
- A genuine passion for working with young people and supporting their growth .
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities when required.
- Level 3 or higher Diploma/NVQ in Health & Social Care Essential Qualifications and
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
