SYREX is looking for an experienced Construction Site Cleaning Manager to manage cleaning operations across live construction sites in London.
This role is responsible for planning, managing and monitoring cleaning works, supervising cleaning teams, maintaining housekeeping standards, managing RAMS and COSHH compliance, coordinating with site management, and making sure all cleaning activities are carried out safely and professionally.
You must have strong construction site experience, a valid SMSTS certificate and a Black CSCS Manager card.
Main duties
- Manage construction site cleaning operations
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly cleaning activities
- Manage cleaning supervisors and operatives
- Review and brief RAMS, COSHH assessments and task-specific controls
- Carry out site inspections and cleaning audits
- Maintain cleaning standards across welfare areas, offices, access routes and agreed site areas
- Coordinate with site management, logistics teams and other contractors
- Make sure cleaning operatives are properly inducted, briefed and supervised
- Check training records, PPE records, equipment checks and briefing registers
- Monitor wet floor controls, waste control, housekeeping and access route safety
- Investigate and report hazards, incidents, near misses and non-conformances
- Make sure cleaning chemicals are used, stored and controlled correctly
- Maintain records for inspections, toolbox talks, RAMS briefings and corrective actions
- Support client audits and site compliance checks
- Stop works where unsafe conditions are identified
Required experience and qualifications
- Previous experience managing cleaning teams on construction sites
- Valid SMSTS certificate
- Valid Black CSCS Manager card
- Strong understanding of RAMS, COSHH and site safety controls
- Experience managing supervisors and site operatives
- Good understanding of construction site access, welfare, housekeeping and logistics
- Able to complete inspections, briefings and compliance records
- Confident dealing with principal contractors and site management teams
- Strong communication and organisation skills
- Reliable, professional and safety-focused
