Job Summary
OAE Publishing Inc. is seeking experienced freelance academic language editors to provide high-quality English polishing services for scholarly manuscripts across various academic and scientific fields. Manuscripts will be assigned based on each editor’s subject expertise and academic background.
The ideal candidate should have strong academic editing experience, subject-matter expertise, and the ability to improve language, clarity, logic, flow, and readability while maintaining the integrity of the original content.
Responsibilities
- Edit scholarly manuscripts for grammar, punctuation, word choice, sentence structure, clarity, and readability.
- Improve logical flow, coherence, academic tone, and overall presentation while preserving the authors’ original meaning and academic content.
- Ensure consistency in terminology, abbreviations, style, and formatting throughout the manuscript.
- Provide comments or suggestions when the original meaning is unclear or requires author confirmation.
- Complete assigned projects within the agreed deadline.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all manuscripts and related materials.
Qualifications
- PhD, MD, or advanced academic degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in polishing or editing academic manuscripts for international journals.
- Excellent command of academic English.
- Subject-matter expertise in one or more academic or scientific fields, including medicine, life sciences, engineering, materials science, environmental science, computer science, social sciences, or related disciplines.
- Experience working with authors whose first language is not English is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word Track Changes and comments.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and meet deadlines.
