Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. Duties
- Wash, peel, and prepare ingredients for cooking and serving
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas, including work surfaces, utensils, and equipment
- Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies in accordance with health and safety standards
- Support chefs and kitchen staff during busy service periods
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures
- Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering environments is advantageous
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
