Imperial Waste Solutions is looking for a polite, well-mannered van driver collecting healthcare waste from our customers’ premises. Previous experience as ADR Group 6.2 driver is essential. Must be over 25 due to insurance requirements. No more than 3 penalty points and be prepared for early starts are essential for this post and some Saturday work.
Job Spec:
To provide a service to our customers of the highest standard in the collection and disposal of their clinical waste and other requirements as necessary.
You will be required to observe the following at all times:
- Personal grooming and cleanliness of appearance
- To wear the full Premium Waste Solutions uniform as supplied at all times
- To provide a courteous and efficient service to our customers
- Work efficiently and effectively with colleagues and customers
- Obtaining customer signatures wherever practical
- Conform to Prestige waste Solutions code of practice, and specific instructions behaviour as required by legislation
Job Responsibilities:
As a driver employed by Imperial Waste Solutions, you will be responsible to the Waste Manager.
The driver will be held accountable for the reporting on maintenance, care and security of his vehicle. This will include:
- Internal and external cleanliness
- Vehicle security and key handling procedures
- Fuel and mileage records
- Daily records as required
- Effective and correct use of company mobile phone
- Vehicle maintenance monitoring systems
- Correct accident reporting procedures
- Avoidance of overloading vehicles
The driver shall in all respects, observe and comply with the Highway Code company policies and procedures. Drivers must action any instructions regarding legislation, relating to operator licensed vehicles needed to perform his/her duties, and will action any amendments to policy and procedures which Imperial Waste Solutions may make from time to time. These will include:
- Completion of daily records
- Compliance with procedures needed to meet daily/weekly objectives
- Communication systems regarding Rota's, reports, customer comments
- Undertake training as and when required by Imperial Waste Solutions
- Perform duties as instructed by members of staff
