Creative Teachers are looking for an ambitious and high-achieving secondary school in Yateley is seeking to appoint an outstanding English Teacher with TLR responsibility to join a successful and supportive English department from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational classroom practitioner and emerging or experienced middle leader who is passionate about delivering exceptional outcomes in English.
The successful candidate will be committed to raising achievement, driving curriculum innovation, and promoting a love of English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 for suitably experienced applicants.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across the English curriculum
- Inspire and motivate students of all abilities to achieve excellent outcomes
- Lead on a designated area of responsibility through a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR)
- Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and departmental improvement planning
- Monitor and support student progress to ensure strong attainment and progress outcomes
- Promote high standards of behaviour, engagement, and achievement
- Support extra-curricular opportunities including literacy initiatives, enrichment activities, and intervention programmes
- Work collaboratively within a dynamic and forward-thinking English department
- Contribute positively to the wider life of the school community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A degree in English or a related subject
- Proven experience of delivering engaging and effective English lessons
- Strong subject knowledge across English Language and English Literature
- A track record of securing strong student outcomes
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- The ability to lead, motivate, and inspire colleagues and students
- Experience or ambition to undertake a middle leadership role
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing
