Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes and within their own homes. This role involves assisting with daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring the well-being of clients. Experience in care environments and a valid driving licence is essential, but full training will be provided for suitable applicants. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support clients with mobility and daily activities to promote independence
- Follow individualised care plans to meet specific needs of each client
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance clients’ quality of life
- Administer medication as directed and ensure accurate record-keeping
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided in accordance with organisational policies
- Support clients with light household tasks to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, and team members to ensure coordinated care
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential as training will be provided
- Valid driving licence is essential
- Good command of English, both written and spoken, for effective communication
- Basic IT skills for maintaining records and completing documentation electronically
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and team members
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in caring for others
- Ability to work flexibly, including shifts that may include evenings or weekends if necessary
