STAND TO is a specialist veterans’ support service within DAAS (Derbyshire Addictions Advice Service). Originally established to provide dedicated alcohol support for veterans, it has grown into a holistic wellbeing service offering recovery programmes, mental health support, community activities, and a thriving Veteran Community Hub.

We’re looking for a compassionate and proactive Armed Forces Community Navigator to join our STAND TO team.
This is a rewarding frontline role where you’ll act as a trusted first point of contact, helping veterans and their families access the support they need.
Working as part of the VALOUR programme, you’ll contribute to a coordinated, multi-agency approach that improves access to services and delivers better outcomes for the Armed Forces Community.
The Role
You’ll deliver a “no wrong front door” service, using triage and person-centred assessment to understand individual needs, manage risk, and connect people to the right support.
This is a varied and people-focused role, combining hub-based support in Chesterfield with occasional outreach across Derbyshire.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support outreach and events.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting individuals as a first point of contact, offering a welcoming and non-judgemental service
- Assessing needs and helping people explore their options
- Connecting individuals to appropriate services through effective referrals and warm handovers
- Following up where appropriate to ensure people have accessed support
- Working with partners across the VALOUR network and local services
- Delivering occasional outreach sessions and attending events
- Keeping accurate records using CRM systems and Microsoft 365 tools
About You
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a frontline support, community or advice role
- Can assess needs and prioritise effectively
- Builds trust quickly and communicates well with a wide range of people
- Is confident working across services and partnerships
- Is comfortable using IT systems, including CRM databases and Microsoft 365
- Understands safeguarding and maintains appropriate professional boundaries

Location & Working Arrangements:
This is an office-based role, located at our community hub in Chesterfield town centre, with occasional travel across Derbyshire. A full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle, and valid business use car insurance are essential. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required.
