Equans is looking for a Soft Service Supervisor to join our team covering multiple Schools across the Birmingham area. Based out of Coleshill Office, Coleshill, Birmingham, B46 1JU you will work 37.5 hours a week on a permanent basis. On offer is a salary of £30,000.00 per annum and benefits package.
Shift Pattern:
- Monday to Friday split shift
- 06:00 – 10:30 and 15:00 – 18:00
(Some flexibility may be required to meet service needs.)
For this role you must undergo a DBS clearance therefore ability to pass is essential.
A valid full driving licence is essential
What will you deliver?
In this role, you will lead and support cleaning teams across multiple school sites, helping to ensure safe, clean, and welcoming environments for staff, students, and visitors.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supervising and supporting cleaning teams to deliver high-quality services
- Organising rotas, training, and day-to-day team activities
- Carrying out cleaning audits and responding to service issues
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety and company procedures
- Managing cleaning stock, equipment, and resources
- Maintaining accurate records (e.g. timesheets, attendance, audits)
- Building positive relationships with schools and stakeholders
- Monitor performance by conducting regular cleaning audits, managing open jobs to prevent SLA failures, and providing prompt responses and solutions to service issues.

Undertake any other reasonable tasks as required by line management.

Who are we looking for?
- Ability to successfully complete an Enhanced DBS check in line with contract requirements.
- Proven experience supervising cleaning services, with strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, substances, and industry standards.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork skills and collaborates well with colleagues.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work, including the ability to cover additional hours when required (e.g., sickness or annual leave).
- Effective communicator, able to interact professionally with colleagues, clients, and members of the public.
- Committed to complying with Health & Safety policies, including wearing protective clothing and following all company and client safety procedures.
