Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Veterinary Practice Operational Manager to oversee the daily operations of our veterinary clinic. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the practice, maintaining high standards of animal care, and fostering a positive environment for staff and clients alike. This role requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of veterinary services. The ideal applicant will have previous management experience within a veterinary or healthcare setting and possess excellent financial and human resources management capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily practice operations, ensuring efficiency and high standards of animal care and client service
- Supervise and support veterinary and administrative staff, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Manage financial aspects of the practice, including budgeting, billing, and expense control
- Coordinate human resources activities such as recruitment, training, performance appraisals, and staff development programmes
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, health, safety, and professional regulations
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to optimise workflow and client satisfaction
- Monitor inventory levels, procurement processes, and equipment maintenance to ensure operational readiness
- Handle client complaints or concerns professionally to uphold the practice’s reputation
- Collaborate with veterinary professionals to ensure clinical excellence while maintaining operational efficiency
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a veterinary or healthcare environment
- Strong management background with demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively
- Knowledge of financial management principles relevant to healthcare practices
- Experience in human resources management including recruitment, training, and staff development
- Veterinary experience is highly desirable to facilitate understanding of clinical workflows and animal care standards
