The Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Assistant Principal to join our Senior Leadership Team. This pivotal role supports the principal in leading and managing the College’s education provision, ensuring outstanding teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
You will act as the Principal’s key deputy, taking responsibility for day-to-day operational leadership, staff management, and delivery of high-quality, person-centred education programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Principal in the leadership and day-to-day management of the College
- Lead and develop teaching and support staff to deliver outstanding education
- Oversee curriculum delivery, student progress, and quality assurance processes
- Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement across education services
- Ensure compliance with ESTYN, CIW, and Welsh Government requirements
- Lead safeguarding, PREVENT, and Looked After Children (LAC) responsibilities
- Manage staffing, including recruitment, performance management, and workforce planning
- Build strong relationships with families, external partners, and awarding bodies
- Deputise for the Principal as required

Essential requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or FE teaching qualification
- Significant experience in an educational leadership role
- Experience working with learners with Autism Spectrum Conditions and additional needs
- Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to manage staff performance and drive improvement
SEN or management qualifications and experience within a specialist or further education setting would be advantageous.
