Job Summary
We are seeking a SEND Support Worker experienced in working with children with additional needs/disabilities including autism to support primary-aged children as part of our nurturing Alternative Provision. Ideally with a Teaching background, experience as a Teaching Assistant, you must have experience of working with primary aged children with SEND/ Autism.
The ideal candidate will have excellent understanding and experience of supporting children with autism, enthusiastic about physical activity and outdoor activities including forest schools, a flexible approach with good initiative, able to use a nurturing approach, willing to complete CPD where needed. You will need to be a confident and experienced practitioner ideally with knowledge of AAC and PECS/Makaton and supporting incremental progress aligned with EHCP.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside colleagues to plan, support and implement a range of wellbeing play based learning activities and high-quality care and support to children under 18 years based on our site in Bath.
- Plan and support early learning opportunities using play-based techniques and using a nurturing approach
- Complete observations and keep records in line with their EHCP Targets
- Assist with daily living including personal hygiene.
- Work as part of a small team
- Work to all safeguarding policies keeping children safe from harm
- Maintain a safe and clean learning environment
- Administer medications as prescribed where required
- Observe and record as required including professional reflection
Willingness to be flexible; further work could be availble subject to numbers of children. There is also work available on term time fortnightly Saturdays at £13.96/hour.

Pay: £18.90 per hour
