Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Counter Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and a friendly demeanour to provide exceptional service to our diverse clientele.
Duties
- Receive incoming telephone calls handling customer enquiries
- Pro-active selling to inactive and new customers, to assist in the achievement of sales and margin performance of the business
- Processing of orders and quotations (both sales and purchases) using in house systems
- Source products and place orders for special goods as requested by the customer
- Ensure the Trade Counter area is kept tidy and presentable at all times
- Ensure paperwork is correct, up to date and filed accordingly
- Ensure visitor HGV or distribution drivers book in when visiting our premises
- Process goods in, stock management reordering and merchandising the Trade Counter and counter area (retail area) as required
- You may be required to undertake additional or other duties as is necessary to meet the needs of the business.
Experience
- Previous experience in trade sales or customer service is preferred
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in merchandising and stock management
- Good communication skills, including active listening and clear verbal interaction
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Proven ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with upselling techniques and maintaining professional phone etiquette is desirable
- Roofing/Builders merchant experience is essential
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
