If you’ve got an in-depth understanding of Person Centred Support and substantial experience of working in a Social Care setting. All you need is the perfect environment to put your skills to great use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor that personal care and support is provided in a way which maintains and respects the privacy, dignity and lifestyle of the person receiving support.
- Ensure that relationships are equitable and supportive.
- Under direction of Team Manager ensure that people supported are enabled to express their choices and independence as valued members of the community (Person Centred Approaches)
- Under direction of Team Manager ensure meaningful person centred plans are taking place for each service user. In so doing ensuring that people supported are accessing a variety of appropriate recreational, educational and leisure activities in accordance with identified needs & wishes.
- Under direction of Team Manager using expertise and knowledge to ensure that the health care & support needs of service users are identified and met through their Health Action Plans and that prescribed treatments are carried out, where necessary arranging appropriate training for staff members.
- Ensure the appropriate safekeeping, recording and administration of medicines in accordance with the Medicines Procedure.
- Ensure that all financial transactions carried out by staff on a person supported behalf are accurate and in accordance with the Finance Procedure.
- Ensure the appropriate safe keeping of people supported money, property and valuables.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications:
- Applicants need to be willing to work a on a rota including evenings and weekends to promote a visible management presence and support to adults with learning disabilities and the support teams.
- An NVQ Level 3 in Social Health and Care (or working towards one) is desirable. Experience in supervising staff would be an advantage.
- You will possess good time management skills and be IT literate.
