We are looking for someone to support one of our clients at our day service here at Heather Lane Nursery.
This job role will be 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9am-15:30pm) with the possibility of overtime to cover holidays/sickness. We are closed for bank holidays and weekends. This role is based on a fixed term contract for 3 months, as it is covering for someone who is off with long term sickness.
The ideal candidate would be someone who is creative and enjoys the outdoors, as our clients work with arts and crafts and light horticultural work. It is also important to us that our clients have a range of activities to choose from, as part of your job role, you may need to encourage the client to try different activities.
It is important that the candidate has a good understanding of Autism and the importance of following care plans.
Previous care experience is essential - Managing challenging behaviours.
Responsibilities will include,
· Supporting and setting up the client with their day service activities (Arts and crafts activities at Crackermac as well as some gardening at Heather Lane)
· Personal care if needed
· Undertaking online courses and group training
· Helping with drink preparation and meal times
