Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our childcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and experience working with young children. Duties
- Plan, organise, and deliver age-appropriate activities that promote children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, and rest periods to ensure their safety and well-being
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages children’s curiosity and independence
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress and daily routines for parents and colleagues
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop programmes aligned with early childhood education standards
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's development, behaviour, and needs
- Support the management team in implementing policies related to health, safety, and safeguarding
- Assist with organising outings or trips that enhance learning experiences outside the nursery setting
- Uphold high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety within the nursery environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles and child development stages
- Strong management and leadership skills to oversee daily nursery operations effectively
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating leadership qualities when necessary
- Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Care or equivalent are highly desirable
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for organising outings or transporting children when required
- A caring attitude combined with patience, creativity, and organisational skills are essential for success in this role
