Overview
We are seeking a skilled and adaptable Chef to provide holiday and sickness cover within our dynamic culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality food service in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all dishes meet our standards of excellence. Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes in accordance with menu specifications and quality standards
- Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing leadership and guidance to ensure efficient operations
- Manage food production, ensuring timely delivery of meals to meet service demands
- Oversee food safety procedures, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen
- Assist with food presentation and garnishing to ensure visually appealing dishes
- Support team members with food preparation tasks as needed, fostering a collaborative working environment
- Serve food to customers when required, ensuring excellent customer service standards are upheld
- Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to minimise waste and optimise resources
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within hospitality or restaurant settings
- Supervising experience, demonstrating leadership skills and team management capabilities
- Strong background in food production, cooking, and food preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience in restaurant service or hospitality roles is desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with culinary techniques, menu planning, and kitchen organisation is advantageous
