Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Lunch Cover to support our team during lunchtime hours. This role is vital in ensuring that children receive a safe, enjoyable, and nurturing environment while they eat. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with young children in a nursery setting. Hours are Monday to Friday 11.00am - 2.30pm (this can be term time). Incentive to complete level 3 early years educator.
Duties
- Supervise children during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Assist with the serving of meals and encourage healthy eating habits among the children.
- Manage any behavioural issues that may arise, using positive reinforcement techniques.
- Communicate effectively with children, fostering a friendly and supportive atmosphere.
- Collaborate with nursery staff to maintain cleanliness and organisation in the dining area.
- Drive engagement through fun, age-appropriate activities during mealtime.
- Provide leadership by setting a good example for children in manners and social interactions.
Experience
- Previous experience in childcare or early childhood education is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English, enabling effective interaction with children and staff.
- Ability to manage groups of children, demonstrating patience and understanding.
- Experience working in a nursery or similar environment is advantageous.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and contributing to their development is essential.
