Accounting Assistant – Abacus cards Ltd
Position – Our finance lead at Abacus Cards Ltd.
Reporting to – The Operations Manager.
Responsibility – The role will take over a number of tasks currently performed by the Finance Manager. This will be a developing role and is ideal for someone wishing to develop their accounting career by taking on more function responsibilities within an exciting and interesting industry. An exciting opportunity for am inquisitive newly qualified/training accountant, to get involved in all facets of a 'companies numbers', not be just performing one function, be working on them all, and joining the dots.
Detailed responsibilities
1. Preparation of Accounts to trail balance stage and further. The reconciliation of all Nominal Ledger Control Accounts and preparation of Accruals and Prepayments.
2. Purchase Ledger -Full responsibility for all aspects of the purchase ledger. Invoice coding, Authorisation, posting and payment.
3. Cash Book – Maintenance of the Cash Book. Bank reconciliations etc.
4. Sales Ledger – Control of the Debtors Control Reconciliations, Control of the automated warning letter system and credit control.
5. VAT – VAT and EC Sales Returns.
6. Representatives Expenses – Processing and Analysis of monthly reports.
7. Royalties – Processing and analysis of monthly royalty payments.
8. Agents commissions – processing and analysis of monthly payments
9. Fixed Assets – Maintenance of the asset registers and the calculation of monthly depreciation charges.
10. Stock valuations – Preparation of regular stock valuations and stock control accounts.
11. Spreadsheets – Maintenance of various spreadsheet controls.
Qualifications
Part Qualified Accountant or AAT/ACCA/CIMA qualified.
A full understanding of accounting principles and the ability to prepare accounts to trial balance stage and further.
Great IT skills. EXCEL / SAGE / XERO / bespoke software. AI agent conversant.
