A well-established UK business operating across multiple industrial and environmental sectors is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician / Mechanic to join its busy transport and engineering team. With operations nationwide and a strong focus on sustainability, reliability, and operational excellence, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and growing organisation.
The Role
Working within a busy workshop environment, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a fleet of HGVs, trucks, trailers, and associated transport equipment to ensure maximum vehicle uptime and compliance standards are achieved.
Key Responsibilities
· Servicing, maintaining, and repairing HGV trucks and trailers
· Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs efficiently
· Conducting vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance
· Completing pre-MOT inspections in line with DVSA standards
· Supporting the maintenance of site transport and ancillary equipment
· Accurately completing maintenance records and workshop paperwork
· Ensuring high standards of workshop housekeeping and health & safety compliance
· Assisting with breakdown support and ad-hoc maintenance tasks where required
About You
· Qualified HGV Technician / Mechanic with a recognised qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
· Previous experience servicing and repairing HGVs and trailers
· Strong mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding skills
· Good understanding of DVSA regulations and workshop safety procedures
· Able to work independently and as part of a team
· Strong attention to detail and time management skills
· Full UK Driving Licence required
· Class 1 (C+E) licence advantageous but not essential
