Café Jumo is a neighbourhood café focused on quality coffee, warm hospitality and creating genuinely good vibes for every guest. We serve all-day brunch in a stylish and welcoming environment and are looking for a skilled and passionate Breakfast Chef to join our kitchen team.
Role Overview
We are looking for an organised, reliable, and fast-paced chef who is passionate about brunch and quality ingredients. The ideal candidate works well under pressure, maintains high standards during busy services and enjoys being part of a positive and supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook breakfast and brunch dishes to a consistently high standard
- Ensure food is presented beautifully and served efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen at all times
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Assist with prep, stock rotation, and kitchen organisation
- Work efficiently during busy brunch services
- Maintain consistency and attention to detail across all dishes
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house and kitchen team members
- Support with receiving deliveries and monitoring stock levels
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a professional kitchen
- Experience preparing breakfast or brunch dishes preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Positive attitude and team-player mentality
- Attention to cleanliness, presentation, and detail
- Flexibility to work weekends and busy shifts
- Passion for hospitality and quality food
Preferred
- Experience working in busy brunch cafés
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
- Ability to work confidently across different kitchen sections
- Creative mindset and interest in seasonal brunch menus
