We’re looking for an ambitious and talented Head Chef to lead the kitchen at Marshall Meadows Manor House Hotel, a luxury hotel and wedding venue set in the stunning Northumberland countryside.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef with a passion for seasonal, high-quality food to make their mark in a well-equipped kitchen and deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Nestled within 12 acres of breathtaking country grounds, our Four Silver AA Star hotel and AA Rosette-awarded Restaurant 1782 offer an exquisite blend of fine dining, bespoke weddings, and private events. As Head Chef, you’ll play a pivotal role in upholding our reputation for excellence by leading our kitchen team and ensuring every dish exceeds guest expectations.
The role:
- Lead and inspire the kitchen team to deliver high standards across all menus – from weddings and events to our à la carte dining
- Plan and create seasonal menus showcasing fresh, local ingredients
- Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships
- Manage kitchen budgets and ensure GP targets are met
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and compliance with health & safety regulations
- Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff to their full potential
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality hotel or restaurant
- A strong knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP procedures
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team
- A creative flair with a focus on flavour, presentation, and consistency
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, ability to prioritise and maintain efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- A hands-on approach and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Knowledge of cost control, menu planning, and kitchen management
