Job Overview
At RSM we are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on flatbed and commercial driving to utilise their skills within a dynamic logistics environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate HGV Class 1 lorries, including flatbed vehicles, in compliance with all legal and safety regulations
- Deliver goods to various locations across the region and nationally, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries
- Conduct pre-journey checks on vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
- Secure cargo safely using appropriate methods and equipment during transit
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate effectively with dispatch teams
- Adhere to all driving regulations, including hours of service and tachograph rules
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required, ensuring proper handling at all times
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills during delivery interactions
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with flatbed operations
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Experience in driving large vehicles in various weather conditions and terrains
- Delivery driver experience demonstrating reliability, punctuality, and professionalism
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to commercial driving and cargo securement
