Kids Stuff Toys is a family-owned independent toy retailer with eight stores across the South East. For over 30 years we have been helping families find the perfect toys, games, gifts and collectibles. We pride ourselves on offering outstanding customer service, knowledgeable staff and a shopping experience that you simply don't find in larger chain stores.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Store Manager to take full responsibility for one of our stores.
This is not just another retail management role. As Store Manager, you will have genuine responsibility and the opportunity to make a real impact on the success of your store. You will lead your team, drive sales, work directly with suppliers, influence product ranges and ensure your store remains a destination for customers in your local area.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and create memorable shopping experiences.
- Drive sales and maximise opportunities throughout the store.
- Recruit, train and coach team members to achieve their full potential.
- Manage stock levels, merchandising and product availability.
- Ensure the store is visually appealing, well-presented and maintained to the highest standards.
- Analyse sales performance and identify opportunities to grow revenue.
- Manage rotas and staffing levels effectively.
- Handle customer enquiries and complaints professionally, turning challenges into positive outcomes.
- Ensure company policies, cash handling procedures and health & safety requirements are followed at all times.
- Create engaging social media content to promote products, events and seasonal ranges.
- Use the company's EPOS system confidently for reporting, stock management and day-to-day store operations.
- Work closely with supplier representatives
- Take an active role in selecting and ordering stock from key suppliers, helping shape the product range within your store.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and identify opportunities to maximise sales.
- Monitor and manage stock loss, implementing procedures to minimise shrinkage.
- Take a proactive approach to theft prevention and support your team in dealing with shoplifting incidents appropriately.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous retail management experience with responsibility for store performance.
- Has a proven track record of growing sales and developing successful teams.
- Is an inspirational leader who can motivate and develop others.
- Leads by example and is willing to get involved in all aspects of store operations.
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Is commercially aware and understands how to maximise sales opportunities.
- Enjoys working with children and families and understands the importance of creating a fun and welcoming shopping environment.
- Takes pride in maintaining exceptional store standards.
- Is confident using EPOS systems, Microsoft Office and other retail software.
- Is comfortable using social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram.
- Has experience working with supplier representatives and is confident making stock purchasing decisions.
- Understands the importance of stock control, stock loss prevention and maintaining accurate inventory levels.
- Has the confidence to deal with challenging situations professionally, including shoplifting incidents and difficult customer interactions.
- Can remain calm and organised during busy trading periods, particularly at Christmas.
- Is proactive, self-motivated and always looking for ways to improve the business.
