About the Role
ScotForce Healthcare are looking for reliable and flexible people to join our core team as Senior Carers, Care Assistants and Support Workers.
Our Senior Care Assistants support older adults in care and nursing homes leading teams, conduction medication audits and administering controlled medication, while our Support Workers help adults and children with disabilities or other support needs to live independently in shared tenancies or their own homes. Many of our team work across both roles - but being confident in one area is enough.
We’re not about the odd shift here and there. We’re about building lasting relationships with our staff and clients. That’s why we offer regular, ongoing work across care homes and supported living services.
Whether you want 2 shifts per week or full-time hours (4-6 shifts), we have opportunities to match - and in the areas we’re recruiting for, demand is high.
Why Join ScotForce Healthcare?
- Part of a Team – Become part of one of our dedicated service teams, working regularly with the same team and services, helping to build stability, trust and high quality support.
- Flexibility with Structure – You choose your availability, but it should include a reasonable mix of shifts and enough days each week to secure regular work, ensure continuity for the client service, and regular contribution to your team.
- Great Pay & Benefits – Earn up to £17.65 per hour (including holiday pay), plus bank holiday enhancements, free uniform, and referral bonuses up to £500.
- Recognition & Rewards – Be valued for more than just the hours you work. From quarterly awards and anniversary gifts to referral bonuses, we celebrate the people who make ScotForce what it is.
- Training & Development – Accredited in-house trainers, external providers, and online modules to support your professional growth.
- 24/7 Support Team – Always on hand to listen, to help, and ensure you get real job satisfaction.
- Career Opportunities – Access to progression pathways with our client partners.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for people who want to build a consistent, rewarding career with ScotForce — not just pick up the occasional shift. Our core staff choose us as their primary workplace and thrive because of it.
The staff who succeed with us share these qualities:
- Reliable & Committed – You turn up when you say you will and want ongoing, regular work.
- Available – You can offer at least 4 days of availability each week to secure a minimum of 2 shifts. Our core staff typically work between 3 and 6 shifts per week, depending on their needs and preferences — giving you the option of consistent part-time or full-time work.
- Wants Security and Continuity – looking for ongoing work, not one-off shifts.
- Flexible & Adaptable – You value the balance this role offers: real flexibility and freedom in choosing when and how much you work, paired with a willingness to adapt to client needs. Flexibility works both ways - and those who embrace that balance thrive with ScotForce.
- Communicative – You keep us informed, respond promptly, and give clear feedback on the services you work in.
- Positive & Professional – You bring a great attitude, take pride in your work, and are valued by clients and colleagues alike.
Requirements
- Minimum of 12 months’ recent, paid experience in the UK as a Senior Carer.
- Care Home experience is essential with strengths in leading teams, administering medication and updating care plans.
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
- Willingness to Travel – While we always aim to secure opportunities as close to home as possible (and much of our work is local), consistent hours often depend on some flexibility. We’ll agree with you what a realistic travel distance looks like to meet your needs and preferences.
- PVG Scheme membership and SSSC registration (or willingness to obtain).
- A caring, professional approach and genuine passion for supporting vulnerable adults.
- We cannot offer visa sponsorship – you must already have the right to work in the UK.
Please note due to the variance in client demand, this role may require you to work, and be paid for, shifts as a Care Assistant/Support Worker.
