Kitchen Assistant / Trainee Pizza Chef.
Summer position.
Dough Eyed – York
We're looking for someone who wants to develop their kitchen experience over the summer while learning the foundations of great pizza making.
Whether you're fresh out of training, considering a career change, or already have some kitchen experience, this role offers the opportunity to learn from the ground up as a pizzaiolo.
At Dough Eyed, we're passionate about pizza, dough fermentation, great ingredients, and continual improvement. We don't expect you to know everything on day one, but we do expect enthusiasm, reliability, and a willingness to learn.
For the right person, there may be opportunities to continue and develop within the business beyond the summer period.
What you'll be doing:
- Assisting with the evening food service
- Learning our pizza and dough-making systems
- Supporting chefs during busy services
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organisation
- Helping with deliveries, stock rotation, and kitchen setup
- Following food safety and hygiene procedures
- Developing your cooking skills through hands-on training
