Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a Part-Time Barista to join us here at The Old Wharf Inn. A newly refurbished independent pub located by the canal, operating 7 days a week and offering high-quality coffee alongside a wide selection of premium lagers, real ales, wines and spirits. We are passionate about delivering excellent products and outstanding customer service in a relaxed and welcoming pub environment.
This role is for Thursday to Sunday.
The ideal candidate will have previous barista experience, ideally within a pub or hospitality setting and bring a positive, enthusiastic attitude to the role. With a friendly face, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn, you would be a great addition to our team.
Summary of Role
To prepare and serve high-quality coffee and hot drinks while maintaining excellent customer service standards at all times. The role will also involve working on the bar and on the floor as and when required, supporting the wider front of house team. You will ensure all service areas are kept clean, organised, and fully stocked, while following all procedures and policies.
Customer Service
- Lead by example with exceptional customer service
- Understand and anticipate customer needs
- Be knowledgeable about our coffee offering as well as our drinks menu
- Prepare drinks to a high standard and ensure consistency
- Confidently recommend and upsell products where appropriate
Duties
- Prepare and serve coffee and hot drinks to specification
- Work on the bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks when required
- Support floor service, including taking orders and clearing tables as needed
- Ensure all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and used correctly
- Follow all bar and service systems, procedures, and hygiene standards
- Maintain a clean, welcoming front of house environment
- Be a reliable team player who supports colleagues and follows instructions efficiently
- Effectively communicate with your line manager and team members
