Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and welcoming Hotel Receptionist to join our team. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our guests, responsible for delivering exceptional guest services and ensuring a smooth check-in and check-out process. This role requires excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Previous hotel experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with check-in and check-out procedures
- Manage guest reservations and room allocations accurately using the hotel management system
- Provide information about hotel facilities, local attractions, and services to guests
- Handle guest enquiries via phone, email, or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Process payments securely and issue receipts or invoices as required
- Address guest concerns promptly and escalate issues to management when necessary
- Maintain a tidy and organised reception area at all times
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest satisfaction
- Uphold high standards of phone etiquette and guest interaction at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable
- Strong phone etiquette with the ability to handle enquiries politely and efficiently
- Friendly, approachable demeanour with a professional appearance
- Organised with good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy environment
- Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays if required
- Knowledge of hotel management software is an advantage but training will be provided
