Willow House is a small, specialist children’s home based in Ely, Cardiff supporting children and young people with additional learning needs and complex needs. We provide a calm, nurturing and structured environment where children feel safe, understood and supported to thrive.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day to day leadership of the home and to help drive high quality, child centred care.

Role Overview
As Deputy Manager, you will play a key leadership role within the home supporting the Registered Manager to ensure the service is safe, well led and compliant with CIW regulations. You will provide hands on leadership, mentor staff and help maintain a stable, nurturing environment for children and young people.
You will deputise for the Registered Manager as required and contribute to the ongoing development of the service.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home
- Lead, supervise and support the staff team to deliver high quality care
- Ensure care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans are implemented effectively
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, recording and regulatory compliance
- Support recruitment, inductions, supervisions and staff development
- Build positive relationships with children, families and professionals
- Promote a positive, trauma informed culture within the home
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ/QCF Level 3 or 4 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) (Level 5 desirable or willingness to work towards)
- Experience in a senior or leadership role within children’s residential care
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
- A calm, reflective and child-centred approach
