Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Out of School Club Co-Ordinator to oversee and organise before and after-school provision for children and manage a small team. Offering a great provision for term-time children only. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment, ensuring children’s needs are met with care and professionalism. This role offers an opportunity to work within a supportive team, contributing positively to children’s development and well-being.
Responsibilities
- To lead a small team of staff to ensure a high provision is carried out for all the children.
- Plan, organise, and supervise before and after-school activities in accordance with organisational policies and children’s interests.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children during club hours, adhering to safeguarding procedures.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and school staff regarding children's progress and behaviour.
- Coordinate daily routines, including registration, snack times, and activity transitions.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and incident reports as required.
- Lead engaging activities that promote social skills, creativity, and physical development.
- Manage the club’s resources efficiently, ensuring equipment is safe and well-maintained.
- Foster an inclusive environment that celebrates diversity and encourages participation from all children.
Skills
- Experience in leading and delegating to a small team of staff.
- Experience in childcare, teaching, nannying or similar roles demonstrating a genuine interest in child development.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan engaging activities suitable for various age groups.
- Excellent communication skills in English to effectively communicate to parents, carers, children and
- Ability to work flexibly during before and after-school hours in accordance with organisational needs.
- A caring attitude with patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to safeguarding children’s welfare.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Childcare qualifications is ideal, however, not mandatory.
- Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene and DBS desirable.
