Sainthill House is a 23-bed residential care home in Exeter, supporting adults with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and varying support needs.
We are not a traditional elderly care home. Our residents range from younger adults through to older people and benefit from a stable, person-centred environment that promotes independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
We're looking for experienced and compassionate Night Care Support Workers who take pride in delivering high-quality care and support.

The Role
As a Night Care Support Worker, you'll play a key role in ensuring residents feel safe, comfortable, and supported throughout the night.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting residents with personal care when required
- Carrying out regular welfare and safety checks
- Providing reassurance and support to residents during the night
- Maintaining a calm, safe, and comfortable environment
- Supporting residents who may require assistance with mobility or daily routines
- Completing accurate records and night reports
- Working closely with colleagues to ensure continuity of care
While nights can be quieter than daytime shifts, they are just as important. You'll be trusted to use your initiative, respond to residents' needs, and help ensure the highest standards of care are maintained throughout the night.
About You
To apply, you'll need:
- A minimum of 1 year's experience in a care or support role
- A caring and compassionate approach
- The ability to work confidently and independently
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
- A reliable and professional attitude
- A commitment to promoting dignity, wellbeing, and person-centred care
Experience supporting people with learning disabilities or mental health conditions would be advantageous but is not essential.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care is welcomed, although experience and the right values are equally important.
Night Pay Rates
Unqualified
- Nights: £14.74 per hour
- Overtime: £15.90 per hour
- Bank Holidays: £20.10 per hour
NVQ Level 2
- Nights: £15.13 per hour
- Overtime: £16.25 per hour
- Bank Holidays: £20.63 per hour
NVQ Level 3+
- Nights: £15.40 per hour
- Overtime: £16.50 per hour
- Bank Holidays: £21.00 per hour
