Natco Foods is a multi-million pound food business, and we have a wide portfolio of ambient foods ranging from herbs and spices to pulses, grains, nuts, canned products, pickles, chutneys, poppadoms and we mill our own gram flour. An integral part of an international company spanning continents, Natco has more than 50 years’ experience in supplying the ingredients required for flavoursome and healthy meals. We supply most major UK supermarkets, both under private and own label categories.
We now have an exciting opportunity available for a full-time permanent Accounts Assistant to join the Finance team at our Hayes site.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will support the managers in the delivery of financial reporting, control and compliance to include:
- Ensuring daily collections (cash / credit / card /cheque or in any other form) are balanced and reconciled with daily system reports.
- Ensuring accuracy of supplier invoices, have then reconciled with GRN’s prior to payment
- Following-up with suppliers for credits due for short deliveries, damaged and expired goods received
- Identifying any variance in cash collections and bring to the notice of management.
- Ensuring accuracy of pricing and promotional offers.
- Ensuring all retro discounts are received from suppliers in a timely fashion.
- Ensuring ledger posting to the company’s financial system are accurate, complete and current at all times.
- Generating financial statements and reports from the system.
- Checking daily cash sheet, banking and compare with the summary reports in the system.
- Transaction posting into purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledger.
- Checking GRN’s for proof of goods delivered on a daily basis and querying any variances before
- entering into system.
Who we’re looking for:
You will be driven and motivated, with high attention to detail and strong Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables. Experience gained in a similar environment is a necessity.
If you possess a qualification from a professional accounting body – AAT, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent - this would be an advantage although it is not essential as experience is more important to us.
