Every child learns differently, and for some children, the right support can completely change their confidence, progress and future.
They need individuals who can bring positivity and structure into the classroom, communicate calmly during challenging moments, and build trust through encouragement, understanding and resilience.
The Supply Room is working with a number of specialist SEND schools across Poole that are looking for full-time Teaching and Learning Support Assistants to join their teams on a long-term basis. These roles are Monday-Friday within one school setting and offer the opportunity to transition onto a permanent school contract over time.
These roles are full-time positions, Monday-Friday. Most schools begin between 8:30am and 9:00am and typically finish around 3:30pm. However, some of our schools require a later finish time of 4:00pm or 4:15pm on Mondays and Tuesdays, so applicants should be able to commit to these hours and have reliable transport arrangements in place.
This is a fantastic opportunity for people who have experience supporting others with learning disabilities and want to use those skills in a rewarding school environment. We are specifically looking for candidates with at least 1 year of experience within childcare, education, care, support work, youth work, mentoring or learning disability support. Both professional and voluntary experience will be considered.
The students you will support may have autism, ADHD, speech and communication needs, learning disabilities or social, emotional and mental health needs. Some pupils may struggle with emotional regulation or behaviour, so the ability to remain calm, patient and consistent is incredibly important.
You don’t need previous experience working in a school to be successful in these positions. What matters most is your attitude, reliability and ability to build positive relationships. Schools are looking for people who are energetic, adaptable and genuinely passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
These are not supply roles. Schools are looking for committed individuals who can become part of the team, provide stability for students and make a long-term impact in the classroom.
We have both immediate starts and September opportunities available. Candidates looking for September positions must be available for a few consecutive paid trial days before 22nd July.
If you are looking for a meaningful full-time role where no two days are the same and where you can make a genuine difference every day, apply now with The Supply Room.
