A leading waste management and environmental services provider is seeking a Class 2 Driver to join its Transport team based in the Gatwick area.

Working Hours
44.75 hours per week (average)
- Monday to Friday: 6:00am – 3:15pm
- Alternate Saturdays: 6:00am – 10:30am
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation operating within the waste and environmental services sector.
Reporting to the Depot Operations Manager, you will be responsible for safely operating a range of waste collection vehicles and collecting predominantly hazardous clinical waste in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report defects in line with legal requirements.
- Operate vehicles safely and efficiently while complying with all transport legislation.
- Adhere to tachograph regulations, Working Time Directive requirements, standard operating procedures, and risk assessments.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Report incidents, near misses, contaminated bins, and non-conforming waste promptly.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and carry out routine vehicle safety checks.
- Deliver excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
- Ensure punctuality, flexibility, and willingness to work overtime when required.
- Wear and maintain PPE in accordance with Health & Safety standards.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- Valid LGV Class 2 (Category C) licence
- Driver Qualification Card (CPC)
- Digital tachograph card
- Previous experience operating waste collection vehicles
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable
- Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
- ADR certification
- Experience operating roll-on/roll-off vehicles, skip loaders, or front-end loaders
Full training will be provided for suitable candidates looking to expand their skills across different vehicle types and operations.
