Rookwood School is seeking a Graduate Boarding Assistant to join our vibrant boarding community.

Rookwood School is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic and practical Graduate Boarding Assistant to join our Boarding House team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and wants to contribute to school life both within boarding and across the wider co-curricular programme.
The successful candidate will help create a safe, supportive and engaging “home from home” environment for our boarders aged 5–16, while also supporting the wider life of the school through activities, events and enrichment opportunities.
Nestled on a leafy site in Andover, Rookwood School is a happy and thriving learning environment for pupils aged 2 to 18. At the heart of our ethos is strong pastoral care, where every individual is treated with respect and dignity. The Graduate Boarding Assistant will support the Head of Boarding and wider boarding team in the day-to-day running of the Boarding House, helping to ensure the welfare, happiness and development of all pupils.
This is a varied and hands-on role suited to someone who is practical, adaptable and enjoys getting involved in all aspects of school life.
The successful candidate will be encouraged to contribute to the wider school community through areas such as:
- Sports coaching and activities
- Performing arts, music or creative clubs
- Technology, media or digital initiatives
- Outdoor education and trips
- Academic support and mentoring
- Weekend and evening activities for boarders
Free accommodation is provided whilst on duty, as well as meals during term time. The role will require the successful candidate to work term time plus an additional 8 weeks during the school holidays to ensure that immersion groups are provided with the best possible experience of Rookwood. The exact working schedule, which has a certain degree of flexibility, will be discussed during the interview stage of the recruitment process.
