Forklift Waste Operative | Marchwood Waste Management Facility

Hours:
- Saturday to Wednesday (ad hoc shifts as required)
- Fully on-site at all times
The role of Forklift Waste Operative:
- Safely loading and unloading palletised waste from vehicles using a Forklift Truck
- Moving waste across the site by FLT
- Storing waste correctly in line with Transfer Station requirements
- Checking incoming and outgoing waste against documentation
- Carrying out waste bulking and repacking as directed by Site Chemists
- Handling a range of materials including oil/water mixtures, paper and cardboard, lithium batteries, general waste, plastic drums, and wood
- Completing daily and weekly checks
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Following all health and safety regulations, company procedures, and site rules
The ideal Forklift Waste Operative:
- Valid Forklift Truck licence (essential)
- Basic IT skills
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Good understanding of health and safety practices
- Able to follow instructions, read work instructions and risk assessments
- Strong communication skills, good work ethic, and flexible approach
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors
- Previous experience in a waste environment desirable (training provided)
