Ecommerce & Customer Growth Manager

Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire (Hybrid)
Hours: 3–4 Days Per Week Preferred | Full-Time Considered
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 FTE (Pro Rata, Dependent on Experience)
Bonus: Up to 10% of salary based on commercial growth targets
Reporting To: Founder, Claire Gelder

Wool Couture and Stitch & Story are established craft brands specialising in knitting, crochet, yarn and craft kits. Together the brands generate over £1.5m in annual turnover and have a loyal customer base, strong repeat purchase rates and significant growth potential.
The Opportunity
We are looking for a commercially minded ecommerce growth professional. This is not a traditional SEO role. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing revenue, improving customer lifetime value, growing average order value, improving conversion rates and identifying new growth opportunities across both brands.

Key Responsibilities
· Own ecommerce growth strategy across both brands
· Improve website conversion rates and customer journeys
· Increase average order value through merchandising, bundles and upsells
· Own retention and lifecycle marketing through Mailchimp
· Build welcome, post-purchase, win-back and reactivation journeys
· Grow organic traffic through commercially focused SEO
· Support growth across Etsy, Faire and NOTHS
· Analyse customer behaviour and identify growth opportunities
· Report on revenue, profit, traffic, conversion and retention metrics
Who We Are Looking For
Someone who has demonstrably grown ecommerce revenue. We are more interested in commercial outcomes than marketing jargon.
· Experience growing Shopify or ecommerce businesses
· Strong analytical and commercial mindset
· Experience with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo or Omnisend
· Understanding of CRO, merchandising and customer journeys
· Comfortable working directly with a founder and taking ownership
· Ability to work independently and take ownership.
· Shopify experience (desirable).
· Marketplace experience including Etsy, Faire or NOTHS (desirable).
Interview Exercise
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to review our websites and marketplaces and present:
- Their top five growth opportunities
- Their priorities for the first 90 days
- How they would increase revenue, average order value and repeat purchase revenue
- Key metrics they would track
Performance Bonus Structure
Bonus to be linked to agreed commercial outcomes including revenue growth, gross profit growth, AOV improvement, repeat purchase revenue growth and marketplace growth.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
