3D Printed Parts Finisher / Workshop Technician

We are seeking a proactive and meticulous 3D Printed Parts Technician with paint spraying experience to join our production team. Its an exciting time to join our business having secured funding to expand our offering and our workshop team. This is a vital role within our manufacturing process, heavily focused on the final preparation, hand-finishing, and high-quality coating of our 3D printed and CNC machined parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finishing & Spraying: Prepare, treat, and paint spray parts to meet strict quality, cosmetic, and aesthetic standards, including a perfect "piano black gloss finish"
- Surface Preparation: Conduct thorough hand-sanding, masking, degreasing, and blending of 3D printed and CNC machined components throughout the paint preparation process.
- Post-Processing: Safely remove completed parts from a variety of 3D printing machines and prepare the machinery for subsequent builds.
- Workshop Operations: Safely operate workshop machinery (band saws, circular saws, disc sanders, pillar drills) and hand power tools (e.g. Dremels) to modify or assemble components.
- Quality Control & Inspection: Ensure all parts conform to strict quality standards by working directly from engineering 3D CAD drawings, inspection plans, and measurement gauges.
- Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of spraying equipment, workshop tools, and the overall working environment.
What We Are Looking For:
- Essential Experience: A solid, proven background in paint spraying and industrial component finishing is mandatory.
- Model Making Experience would be an advantage
- You do not need to have worked in 3D Printing before however you will come from a background where you have sprayed components, component preparation.
- Impeccable Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for quality; someone who takes immense pride in achieving a flawless finish and catches errors early.
- Technical Skill: Highly competent using hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to manufacture or assemble parts.
- Proactive Attitude: A self-starter who manages their time effectively, anticipates the needs of the production line, and keeps jobs moving.
- Reliability: Ability to work safely and efficiently within a fast-paced workshop environment.
