We are interested in who you are, not just what you've done.....this is why previous experience with children is not a requirement of applying for a role with us.
THE AUNTIES' OLD SCHOOL NURSERY is a long-established, reputable day nursery for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers (0-5 years), operating at the highest level for nearly 35 years, consecutively achieving 'Outstanding' Ofsted status. We are an exceptionally caring, Gold and Platinum Investors in People employer who take pleasure in developing committed staff members of all ages and abilities. We were internationally recognised as 'The Investors In People 'Employer of the Year 2017'' - which is a reflection of how passionately we feel about our staff and making them the very best versions of themselves, both in and out of the workplace.
We are also a CACHE approved and regulated Training-Centre which means training and qualification opportunities are available to all members of staff and the incredible work they do. Funding options are available to all staff for training and qualifications.
We are looking for fun, kind, enthusiastic people to join our busy, family-run day nursery. No previous nursery experience is needed, but you must have a desire to learn and develop to your full potential, putting the children first at all times whilst pushing yourself to be the best version of yourself. We are specifically looking for people who are looking to better themselves, and help better those around them. Successful candidates must be caring, conscientious, energetic, flexible and a warm-hearted person, ultimately able to care for and educate our children to the highest levels. You will also be trained to develop children to their full potential, engaging with activities such as: cooking, singing, dancing, arts, crafts, messy play, role play, lots of outdoor activities, reading stories, writing, etc.
We offer very competitive salaries (even for unqualified staff) that can't be matched within the childcare industry, with genuine scope for personal and professional development. Regardless of age, we categorically do not pay 'apprenticeship wages' or minimum wage, and believe staff deserve more than this, regardless of their experience or job role.
The hours of work would be between 8:00am and 6.30pm Monday to Friday (3-5 days per week - most staff opting to work 3-4 days per week). You will be joining an exceptionally driven, supportive, hard-working team of varied Aunties and Uncles who relish paying attention to detail to maintain outstanding standards. You will benefit from regular and consistent training, enrolment in nationally accredited courses, genuinely friendly, kind team colleagues, interested, supportive employers, a convenient location (on a good bus route), a beautiful working environment, free parking, an excellent salary, (particularly by industry standards); increasing significantly according to your individual progress and commitment - and lots of fun!
Please note that we are rigorous in our approach to safeguarding the welfare of all children in our care, along with vigilant implementation of Covid-secure safety measures. Thus, all employees are legally required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service, along with other safeguarding and recruitment checks including personal and employment references. This information contributes to us ensuring that we are able to make a fair and safe appointment and is being requested in line the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework, as well as the DfE guidance, ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education’ (2024).
We really look forward to hearing from you! A new chapter potentially awaits....
