Swift Temps are recruiting on behalf of a well-established galvanizing business in Oswestry for Production Operatives / Yard Operatives to join their busy steel processing site.
This is a hands-on, physically demanding role working with large steel components in a heavy industrial environment. You’ll be involved in the movement, preparation, and processing of steel through the galvanizing process, ensuring materials are handled safely and efficiently at all times.
The role would suit someone with experience in steel work, fabrication, manufacturing, construction, or general yard labouring, who is comfortable working outdoors and around heavy materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Handling and moving large steel components around the yard and production areas
- Assisting with preparation of steel for the galvanizing process
- Loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently
- Supporting production operations throughout the plant
- Carrying out general labouring duties across the site
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment
- Assisting FLT drivers and overhead crane operations where required
- Following strict health & safety procedures at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a manual labour, yard, construction, or industrial environment
- Comfortable working with heavy materials and physically demanding tasks
- Good awareness of health & safety in an industrial setting
- Reliable, hard-working, and able to follow instructions
- Willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within galvanizing, steelworks, or fabrication
- FLT licence (training can be provided if needed)
- Overhead crane experience advantageous but not essential
