Job Overview
As our business continues to grow, we are seeking an additional full-time Sous Chef to join our dedicated kitchen team. The George Pub, located in the picturesque village of Little Brickhill, Milton Keynes, is looking for an experienced, passionate, and motivated Sous Chef to support the continued success of our kitchen.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in food preparation, kitchen operations, and team leadership. Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in maintaining exceptional food quality, ensuring efficient day-to-day kitchen operations, and delivering outstanding dining experiences for our guests. You will also help uphold the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and consistency while contributing to the ongoing development of our menu and kitchen team.
Standard Working Pattern:
Wednesdays & Thursdays - 4pm-10pm
Fridays & Saturdays - 11am-10pm
Sunday - 11am-5pm (approx)
Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning and food preparation, ensuring high-quality standards are met.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to enhance their skills and performance.
- Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and maintaining proper stock levels.
- Oversee food safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Coordinate banquet services and special events, ensuring all culinary needs are met.
- Monitor food production processes to maintain consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
Skills
- Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in roles such as Sous Chef or similar positions.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in team management and supervising kitchen staff.
- Knowledge of food handling, safety regulations, and best practices in culinary operations.
- Excellent cooking skills.
- Experience with inventory management and control processes within a restaurant setting.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: £28,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
