Cover Supervisor
Location: Prestatyn, Denbighshire
Contract Type: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary
Excell Supply is seeking reliable, confident, and enthusiastic Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Prestatyn and the surrounding areas. Successful candidates will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged in learning activities and maintain high standards of behaviour.
This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, or individuals with experience working with young people who are looking to gain valuable classroom experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absences.
- Deliver pre-planned work set by teaching staff.
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students in completing assigned tasks.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student engagement and behaviour.
- Uphold safeguarding and health and safety procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in leading groups of secondary-aged students.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational abilities.
- A flexible, professional, and proactive approach.
- Experience working with children or young people is desirable.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
