Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Band 6/7 Dietitian to join a supportive NHS team in Dumfries, specialising in mental health and eating disorders. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact across both inpatient and community mental health services.
Role Overview
As a Mental Health Dietitian, you will provide specialist nutritional support to patients within mental health inpatient wards and assist with triaging community mental health referrals. You will play a key role in supporting individuals with complex dietary needs, particularly those affected by eating disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist dietetic assessment and interventions for patients within mental health inpatient settings
- Support the triage and management of community waiting lists for mental health services
- Provide expert nutritional care for patients with eating disorders and complex mental health conditions
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, psychiatrists, and nursing staff
- Develop and implement individualised care plans to support recovery and wellbeing
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
Requirements
- Degree in Dietetics or equivalent qualification
- HCPC registered Dietitian (essential)
- Experience working within mental health settings
- Ideally, experience supporting patients with eating disorders
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary working skills
