About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a confident, commercially minded and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Insurer and Broker team.
This is a key commercial role focused on developing new business opportunities while also managing, supporting and growing relationships with our existing broker partners. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships with insurers, insurance brokers, MGAs, affinity partners and wider business partners, ensuring both new and existing relationships are actively managed and commercially developed.
The role will involve identifying new opportunities, maintaining regular contact with existing brokers, supporting broker engagement, developing pipeline value and promoting our legal expenses insurance products, ancillary insurance products and claims management services.
The successful candidate will be proactive, organised and commercially focused, with the ability to build trust, strengthen existing relationships, identify opportunities for growth and represent the business professionally with external partners.
This is a field-based/remote role, with one day per week office presence required at either our Warrington or London office.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with existing brokers, insurers, MGAs and affinity scheme partners.
- Acting as a key point of contact for existing broker relationships.
- Regularly engaging with brokers to maintain relationships, understand their needs and identify opportunities for further growth.
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities across our insurance products and claims services.
- Supporting the growth of existing broker accounts and partner relationships.
- Building and managing a strong business development pipeline.
- Attending meetings with prospective and existing business partners.
- Promoting our legal expenses insurance, ancillary products and claims management services.
- Working with internal teams to support broker onboarding, implementation and ongoing service delivery.
- Monitoring broker performance and identifying opportunities to increase engagement, referrals and product uptake.
- Preparing and providing regular sales updates, performance reports and management information.
- Attending sales planning meetings and contributing to wider business strategy.
- Working alongside our digital marketing team to support lead generation and pipeline growth.
- Developing a strong understanding of our software solutions, claims systems and product offering.
- Representing the business professionally at meetings, events and industry opportunities.
- Contributing to team targets and wider business growth.
About You
We are looking for someone with a strong background in insurance, business development, broker development, account management or insurer relationship management.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience in an insurance, broker, MGA, insurer, legal expenses or affinity scheme environment.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, account management or relationship management.
- Confidence dealing with existing and prospective brokers, insurers, MGAs and business partners.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities within existing accounts.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- The ability to build trusted, long-term relationships.
- A proactive and tenacious approach to developing new business and growing existing relationships.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a pipeline.
- Good attention to detail and accurate reporting.
- The ability to work independently while also collaborating with internal teams.
- A professional, credible and positive approach.
Product Knowledge
Experience or working knowledge in any of the following areas would be beneficial:
- Motor legal expenses insurance.
- Household legal expenses insurance.
- Commercial legal expenses insurance.
- Landlord legal expenses insurance.
- Ancillary insurance products.
- Claims management services.
- Affinity schemes.
- Broker distribution.
- MGA or insurer partnerships.
Desirable Experience
The following would be advantageous, but are not essential:
- Existing broker, insurer or MGA contacts.
- Previous field-based business development experience.
- Experience managing existing broker or introducer relationships.
- Experience working with affinity scheme partners.
- Experience using insurance software systems.
- Acturis experience.
- Open GI experience, including TGSL Transactor or Mobius.
- CII qualification or willingness to work towards this.
