About the Role
A specialist SEN school in Reigate is seeking a motivated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to support children and young people with additional needs in a well-resourced and supportive educational setting, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally.
The school caters for pupils with Autism (ASC), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), SEMH, speech and language needs, and complex communication difficulties. Working alongside teachers and therapists, you will provide tailored support to help pupils access learning and achieve their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group support across the classroom
- Assist pupils with learning activities, communication, and social interaction
- Support the delivery of personalised learning programmes and EHCP targets
- Encourage independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning
- Implement behaviour support strategies consistently and effectively
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and wider support staff
- Support pupils during classroom activities, breaktimes, and educational visits
- Assist with personal care where required
- Help maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking ForEssential:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, resilient, and proactive approach
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to Work in the UK
Desirable:
- Experience supporting pupils with ASC, SLD, SEMH, or communication needs
- Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, AAC, or sensory-based approaches
- Experience within an SEN school, mainstream school, or care setting
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or health and social care

Pay: £97.68-£114.57 per day
